Hi! My name is Lawrence. This is a site made available through Cloud Run. The site operates in a tiny container built from a file called an image. When a person visits kahon.cc, the container wakes up and the site responds. When there is no traffic, the container goes to sleep. If traffic spikes, Cloud Run can add containers to meet the need, and vice versa. This makes the site resilient and resource-friendly.
As a newbie to Cloud Run, my biggest fear was I’d never understand it, let alone use it to share knowledge. To my relief, Cloud Run is accessible and fun–once you get used to its structure. Thanks to an article by Peter Kracik, I set up this serverless site in one afternoon.
